Google Thinks YOU Are a Black Hat SEO. Should You Trust Them? : SEO Book.com
There is a great thread over on SEOmoz by Matthew Inman about how some Googlers consider any of his future attempted linkbaits and widgetbaits to be off topic spam, based on his aggressive misuse of widgets in the past.
Thanks for the article Aaron, it’s gooood.

Out of all the companies Google has acquired, the purchase that led to what we are going to talk about today was of a small little company called Android Inc. This company wasn’t even around two years before Google swept them up. Of course, this only added fuel to the fire that Google was going to get into the cell phone market. This is what I am here today to talk about — Google’s Android.

It depends upon the search engines to implement or not to implement the patent in their search results after applying for the patent or even after getting the patent. However such patents provide us the idea about the expectations of search engines in a website. Many of Google’s patents have provided us the idea about the importance of fresh content, anchor text, domain-related information, user behavior, themes, link popularity, and data history etc. Google wants to generate the best possible search results for the visitors.
Recently, Google released a new patent application under the title: ‘System and method for supporting editorial opinion in the ranking of search results (http://tinyurl.com/pambf)’. Google’s latest patent application doesn’t focus on algorithm-based changes but it is more focused on the various aspects related with integration of human editorial process. This patent will help a lot in this regard because this will allow to use a newly devised searching method. This is a patent that refers a site as a whole rather than a specific page.
It is a fact that search engine algorithms are delivering their best performance according to their capacity. Recent search results show that an algorithm-based search engine can’t deliver excellent results regularly for much longer period because there are many SEOs who continuously try out reverse-engineer system. To deal with this problem, professionals have devised many solutions. One of those is a social search engine. These social search engines rank their results according to the wisdom of crowds.
To find out the results there are two types of sources. The first one is known as ‘Favored Sources’. These are those websites that are useful and contain authoritative content on the concerned topic. Second kind of sources is known as ‘Non-Favored Sources’. These websites may have biased information or misinformation on the concerned topic.
The latest patent application describes a semi-automatic system to identify favored and non-favored sources. According to the served details in latest patent application, Google is trying to get patent for a system that will identify good sites and bad sites in order to rank them according to SERPs. This process is certainly going to improve search results significantly.
In their latest patent application, Google has proposed a hybrid mechanism. This system combines human based editorial process with algorithmic search. By integrating editorial opinion in search results, Google believes to enhance the quality of its search results. This new process will also use theme-based queries and relevancy aspects to improve their results.
Pay Per Click search engines include the most popular web sites on the internet such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, and others. By taking a look at top PPC sites, their audience, costs, and comparable benefits, users will be able to make a better decision when constructing a PPC advertising campaign.
Google AdWords is the most popular PPC choice, with the ability to serve ads directly related to keywords on the search engine results pages as well as through content related ads on Adsense web sites.
Yahoo! Search Marketing was one of the originators of PPC advertising, and remains a popular choice with advertisers online due to its broad user base.
Microsoft AdCenter also offers many of the same PPC advertising possibilities through its search engine and MSN network,
Ask.com is one of the biggest web sites on the internet for content and advertising on this network with PPC is a good choice for expanding campaigns.
Shopzilla is a product comparison web site that allows PPC ads to be placed in content locations.
Shopping.com is another product comparison web site with Pay Per Click advertising that is excellent for retailers.
When you start to put ads on one of these web sites, keyword analysis is another factor that is important in PPC advertising. Search engines sort and analyze data on the internet which include keyword analysis. Keywords are used in Pay Per Click advertising to place the ads on results pages with the same user queries. Advertisers can also select different combinations of terms that are also entered by web surfers when looking for information on the internet.
Some keywords are popular, and as PPC advertising is based on people bidding for keywords, the most popular keywords are expensive. Less popular PPC keywords are less expensive. So you can balance your campaigns by experimenting with different ad words, and chart the effectiveness of each campaign through analytics.
If you expand your PPC campaign to more than one search engine, you can also use the same ads and keywords or custom create a new campaign for each search engine. Even if your ad is not clicked on in the PPC campaign, your domain name and information will still be read by thousands of people on search engine results pages. This can assist in developing brand recognition for your web site in the marketplace using PPC advertising methods.

A great tool for webmasters just got better. Google released early this morning an updated look for Google Webmaster Central. They have added some new features and better organized some previous sections. Members on WMW are discussing the new changes and how they feel about the redesign. Mostly the feedback is all positive and find the interface much easier to use.
New for WMT seems to have added Subscriber Stats, adding the ability for webmasters to track the number of people who visit their feeds via Google Reader, iGoogle, or Orkut. One member on WMW noticed the PR distribution link has been removed. Overall this seems to just be an interface update with a better design, nav improvements, and sleek spiffy new buttons.
