If in some moment you notice that your highly ranked site loses its positions with the speed of the light or it doesn’t appear in SERPs at all. even though all the pages were indexed, I regret to tell you that but your site has been banned by the search engines.

No need to say that being removed from the index of such search giants as Google or Yahoo! your site eill begin to loose TONS of traffic - but don’t panic, we can help.

Complete the following steps in order to return your site back to the search engine index.

First, need to find out the reason of the disappearance. Majority of the possible reasons are listed below. Check all the points carefully taking into consideration that even if YOU didn’t break the rule it could have been your webmaster or search optimization company that did it.

Reasons why your site could have been banned by search engine:

  • File robots.txt has been changed or NOINDEX meta tags have been included so that the spiders can not reach your site any more.
  • Your server is not stable or down too much.
  • Your site has been copied (or Mirrored) by someone and has been banned for duplicate content (affiliate sites that absolutely copy content of the major site will also harm)
  • Your site contains hidden text (text written the same color as the page’s background so that user can’t see it)
  • Your pages employ cloacking techniques (the users are displayed one content and spiders – another)
  • The site implements doorway pages, hidden links
  • A sneaky redirect from the optimized for search engine page is used
  • The page contains a great quantity of high traffic but absolutely irrelevant for your site keywords
  • Your site is linked by spammers of “bad neighborhood” – sites like free-for-all directories, gambling sites, adult sites

Results of the second step to get back to the index of search engine will probably depend on your luck. After you have removed all the possible reasons from the list above and feel that your site meets webmaster guidelines you could send the search engine a very polite email in which:

  1. Describe your situation – what you (or your webmaster) have done
  2. Tell that you have read the guidelines and corrected all the mistakes on your site
  3. Claim that you will never do something like you have done on your site when it was banned
  4. Include full contact information

Of course there is no guarantees that this message will be replied, but to my mind it is the only chance to put your site back to the search engine’s index so you take the opportunity and proof your writing!

I hope this information will help in case of any indexation mishap, but in general I wish you NEVER to banned by any search engine!

It’s common tendency for Search Engine Optimization specialists to avoid use of dynamic URLs and not groundlessness. Search Engine Spiders don’t index URLs overwhelmed with dynamic parameters.

So if your site is PHP-based and resides on an Apache Server then you might consider carrying out these four simple steps to boost your traffic:

1. Identify the file that needs to be changed and the variables that generate a common page. (commonly “index.php”).

2. Place a text file .htaccess in the directory where, “index.php,” is located on the server.

Specify variables you want to be static to the server: change “?category=1” variable to “directory-1.html”.

3. Create a rewrite engine in the .htaccess file. Put first line to read, “RewriteEngine On”. Specify Rewrite rule on the next line: “RewriteRule ^directory-([0-9]*).* index.php?category=$1 [L,NC],”.

4. In the PHP file replace “index.php?category=,” to read, “directory-,” where, “index.php?category=X,” is found and follow behind the variable (x) with, “.html”.

Every site owner dreams of bringing more traffic to his site as well as achieving better search engine visibility. That undoubtedly is the top goal for everyone - but what is the first step to capture it? Sure, it’s common knowledge any noticeable traffic begins with search engine indexation. Unless a search engine indexes your site it will not show up in the results, this is because the search engine doesn’t even “know” about the site’s existence. So, how can you get your site listed in search engine? The question is rather simple still rises some disputes in SEO community.

Sometimes for the site to be indexed it’s enough to have a link from an indexed site so that search engine spider follows the link and indexes the pages from your site. However, in some cases it’s better not to pin your hopes on this method and to submit a site (manually or automatically) to search engines and directories.
Site submission - is the actual process by which a site is directly submitted to a search engine for inclusion into their database. My personal opinion is that automatic submission will never surpass manual submission but as a matter of fact you are to choose.

Prior preparation of the site is recommended but not crucial when submitting to search engine. On the contrary, when you are going to submit your site to the directory that is search engines powered by human beings then you should consider writing a capacious description to your site based on 3-4 most efficient terms for your site (don’t spare time to find the best keywords for your site with any keyword tool rather then guessing at these).

I consider the most logical is to submit to major free search engines like Google, Yahoo, DMOZ first and then to continue with smaller directories (like 01webdirectory.com, a1directorysearch.com, linkdiscovery.com, NationalDirectory.com and so on).

If you can afford to shell out $300 I recommend paid inclusion to Yahoo Directory. It will not only allow your page to be indexed within 72 hours and re-indexed every 48 hours but also will give weight to the site in the “eyes” of other search engines.

And one more thing- in order to make your first step to huge traffic correctly I advice you to read and follow all the instructions when submitting your site. Good luck!
