Google has just launched the “Hot Trends” feature to Google Trends. The home page of Google Trends now shows 10 hottest queries of the day. What makes Google think that a particular query is hot? It is not stated but the guesses are that the queries are chosen if a sudden rise in query popularity occurs.

Following the link More Hot Trends the user is presented top 100 hot links of the day. When the query is clicked Google show related data including when that query peaked related searches, news items, blog items and web results for that query related geographic elements and a chart.

Each query in Google Hot Trend results is also assigned a hotness score which could be “volcanic”, followed by “on fire,” “spicy,” “medium” and “mild.”

User can also choose a date he is interested in and review the hottest items for the previous days.
