If in some moment you notice that your highly ranked site loses its positions with the speed of the light or it doesn’t appear in SERPs at all. even though all the pages were indexed, I regret to tell you that but your site has been banned by the search engines.
No need to say that being removed from the index of such search giants as Google or Yahoo! your site eill begin to loose TONS of traffic - but don’t panic, we can help.
Complete the following steps in order to return your site back to the search engine index.
First, need to find out the reason of the disappearance. Majority of the possible reasons are listed below. Check all the points carefully taking into consideration that even if YOU didn’t break the rule it could have been your webmaster or search optimization company that did it.
Reasons why your site could have been banned by search engine:
- File robots.txt has been changed or NOINDEX meta tags have been included so that the spiders can not reach your site any more.
- Your server is not stable or down too much.
- Your site has been copied (or Mirrored) by someone and has been banned for duplicate content (affiliate sites that absolutely copy content of the major site will also harm)
- Your site contains hidden text (text written the same color as the page’s background so that user can’t see it)
- Your pages employ cloacking techniques (the users are displayed one content and spiders – another)
- The site implements doorway pages, hidden links
- A sneaky redirect from the optimized for search engine page is used
- The page contains a great quantity of high traffic but absolutely irrelevant for your site keywords
- Your site is linked by spammers of “bad neighborhood” – sites like free-for-all directories, gambling sites, adult sites
Results of the second step to get back to the index of search engine will probably depend on your luck. After you have removed all the possible reasons from the list above and feel that your site meets webmaster guidelines you could send the search engine a very polite email in which:
- Describe your situation – what you (or your webmaster) have done
- Tell that you have read the guidelines and corrected all the mistakes on your site
- Claim that you will never do something like you have done on your site when it was banned
- Include full contact information
Of course there is no guarantees that this message will be replied, but to my mind it is the only chance to put your site back to the search engine’s index so you take the opportunity and proof your writing!
I hope this information will help in case of any indexation mishap, but in general I wish you NEVER to banned by any search engine!
