This week Microsoft was granted some new patents which will bring new possibilities to their search and advertising products. So what major points do the patents focus on?

The first patent aims to improve text search by utilizing information redundancy. While the second patent Microsoft presents annotation management system that is able to handle millions of requests a day. And the third patent relates not to search but to advertising. Microsoft claims to display advertising based on the television programming viewed by the particular user so that the ads become more relevant.
The 3 patents were granted to Microsoft on May 23 - see below:
