Ask-Bloglines.JPGI bit of privacy has been proposed for Internet users. At last! At last a sip of freedom to those who have blogs but seek to make them personal in the full meaning of the word.

Earlier all your attempts to hide your personal blog from search engine failed even in services specially intended for it such as Flickr or MySpace because of the possibility to access them through RSS feeds. Now Ask.com and Bloglines suggest a new function that will prevent search engines from accessing these pages. By adding an access:restriction tag to the top of the XML/RSS/Atom feeds you will be able to keep the personal information hidden from the strangers’ eyes.

So now you can pass the URL of your blog only to a friend without worries that anybody else could find it in search engine. The question is why no formal agreement hasn’t been made yet to support the idea? I can’t tell for the others but personally I like the suggested possibility.
