Google makes substantial efforts to improve their Image Search engine. The system already can define the faces in search results and users could use a special attribute &imgtype=face at the end of the URL to be showed faces only.
We believe that quite soon the attributes for other categories will arise as Google is encouraging its users to take part in Google Image Labeler initiative – “a new feature of Google Image Search that allows you to label random images to help improve the quality of Google’s image search results”.

This “game” is pretty funny and we hope the data collected via it will be used effectively and help to improve Google Image Search significantly!
Bad and Sad news for Indian bloggers as Indian Government has instructed ISP’s to ban 17-18 websites on the internet. None of the website was informed that they ware going to be blocked. The main reason was to stop the illegal activates but it’s not justice to block the entire sites like blogspot where millions of people share thoughts, information and useful contents. All the blogs hosted on following domains are blocked.
blogspot.com
ttypepad.com
geocities.com
Not good to block entire Indian Bloging community to avoid illegal activates. Smart people will simply use the alternate proxy to access their blogs. A restriction has to be thoughtful and measurable!
The growing frustrations while using Adcenter of MSN, is making all of us think, can MSN get away this time? The clear differences pointed out:
1. The number of steps for making a change to campaigns (Google takes 3 and MSN 7-9)
2. The time it takes to make any change – Google 2.5 minutes, MSN 78 Minutes
3. Support – google – live, chat enabled – call and get an answer. MSN – i have no clue yet how to do it and get it done.
4. Interface – basic and everything you may have to go somewhere else or click something else and wait forever for it to load
5. Errors – MSN simply we dont know why the errors are popping up and what needs to be done to rectify them.
While tall promises of taking advertising away from TV, killing Google etc sound tempting and threatening, I think time for co-existance has come for MSN and it has to live with being 2nd or 3rd in certain markets. Oh what a time to be in

Just searched for ‘Taxes’ in Google government search and the regular one. My observations;
1. In the regular results, there are approx. 462 million results. And the Google Government search finds 28,100,000 ? I had no clue if government has so many sites/pages dedicated to taxes. But, maybe its a good thing to know government is interested in our taxes and filled up so many pages
2. I get the same ads (also the same untargeted global ads by us -spray money across the globe to see if it works elsewhere too)
Integrating it with your homepage is a cool thing though. And personalized content with RSS feeds make Google again my favorite

As per the recent news on Google Earth, Google is all set to new version of Google Earth 4.0 with various new features and localization with Linux support. Google Earth user interface is now localized in various languages like French, Italian, German, and Spanish along with local search and geographical intuitive directions.
Google Earth has will also have an increased coverage area along with much better resolution images. Google also is implementing a unique information layer for newly supported countries – similar to the OpenLayers Geo Maps project?.
We can expect more updates by end of this year as they are working hard to bring better results and cover the entire globe with all possible information in a single click!

Google finally launched it’s much anticipated web based spreadsheet application. It’s a powerful online interface with various features like:
- Sharing document with other users
- Multiple people can view and edit a sheet at a time (full collaboration)
- Add ‘tabs’ or ‘workbooks’
- We could also use a traditional ‘vlookup’ command with no problems
No need to worry about your data being lost on a hard drive, or local folder. Google makes it available anywhere, and hosts the data in their systems. The new application also has handy options to export in .csv, XLS and HTML formats, making it cross compatible
Looks like lot more ‘Office’ like offerings and integration is on the horizon, especially after this recent announcement of Google Spreadsheet from Google Labs. We expect Google to provide a way to generate live Adowrd reports in our formats/predefined templates using Google Spreadsheets! Watchout Microsoft, they are definately pitching a tent in your front-yard.
